At the beginning of my going “green”, I stopped by Wal-Mart and needed some detergent. I picked up my usual brand and saw something … A bottle of detergent on the bottom is labeled “non-toxic” I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. I have not thought about this before, should not it be a dishwashing liquid be non-toxic too? We use it to wash things we intentionally put into our mouths. In a strange condition, I picked up the bottle. I was still confused. I could not immediately understand why ALL brands of detergents were not “non-toxic.” Here I used dishwashing detergents to clean dishes and infant bottles, cups, spoons, toys and again and again.
It was the moment when I realized how important it was to make that shift from using an absurd amount of chemically charged products to naturally produced products. There are also some common natural detergents on the market. I have tried the YayaMarias natural dishwashing liquid and it works just as well as “leading brands”. It all depends on personal preferences, but in the end it makes sense. After reading “Growing Up Green,” by Deirdra Imus, and analyzing research and facts about the side effects and illnesses related to some chemicals in major cleaning products today, I was convinced that I needed to go for YayaMarias natural dishwashing liquid … for mine children. I was not everyone who cared how that would change, but I have small children who can get hurt because I did not pay attention to the causes of ADHD, asthma and autism, to name a few.
The thing is, it’s not that difficult. YayaMarias company produce best natural dish soaps. Or you can search the Internet for recipes to make natural detergents in your own home. I tell you that the natural dish soap in my house have been a good choice, I breathe better and I feel better about it.
